Healthcare Based Roles

With the current situation that the country is going through, we think that the public opinion regarding healthcare-based roles is high. While most people automatically think of a doctor or nurse when considering jobs within a hospital and other facilities, several essential roles keep a hospital running, and of which, you do not need a bachelor’s degree in order to do. These include such jobs as:

  • Phlebotomist: Phlebotomists are the people you see at hospitals taking vials of blood from people for various reasons. Whether that be for blood tests to diagnose a condition or as a routine, phlebotomists play an essential role in keeping the healthcare facility running. What’s more, phlebotomists also work at blood banks, taking donations from people, keeping said donations safe, and ensuring the safety of the person who is donating. While no bachelor’s degree is required, some experience is recommended before taking up a posting such as this.
  • Medical Assistant: Like the previous suggestion, medical assistants ensure the smooth running of a facility on a day-to-day basis, often providing administrative and clinical support. While their roles will vary based on the facility they are working in, they will typically engage with patients to get basic information from them while also scheduling any necessary tests, injections, and medication. If you are interested in entering a role in the healthcare industry through this means, you will only need a high school diploma or the equivalent in order to do so. With on-the-job training, you can be thriving in the environment and assisting numerous patients in no time!

Commercial Roles

Much like the available healthcare-based roles, if you are a bit squeamish and do not bode well with blood and other bodily fluids, then a job in the commercial sector is the one for you! Like our previous suggestions, you will not need a degree to do any of these jobs, so they are accessible to more people. Keep reading for more about jobs such as:

  • Real Estate Agent: Selling people their dream houses seems rather fulfilling as an occupation and one which you do not need to have gone to college or university to do! Some sector experience is recommended but is not essential when inquiring about the country’s best real estate schools to gain your real estate agent’s license. For those who are interested in finding out more about acquiring this license and about how else to pursue an occupation in this industry, there are plenty of resources out there to help you. Before you know it you could earn your licence and start your dream career.
  • Plumber or Electrician: Becoming a plumber or electrician is a process that can be started while still in high school if those reading this are of that age. Taking specific classes to assist in the process – including algebra and geometry, physics, and thermodynamics – will set you well on your way to receiving your high school diploma and landing you a place on an apprenticeship. The same process goes when wanting to be an electrician, taking the relevant classes in high school, getting your diploma, and landing a spot on an apprenticeship. While having experience always helps, it is not required; much like some of our previous suggestions, you will be learning on the job and getting better at what you are doing with practice.

We hope that you have found our suggestions helpful when searching for jobs that you don’t need a degree for. Keep positive and keep working towards what you want; eventually you will reach your goals!
